2v2 Off-Ball Screen Game with Passer
2v2 small-sided game with a passer that starts from an off-ball screen. Players work on screening, spacing, ball movement, and decision-making against different defensive coverages.
Instructions
- Start with 5 players in a line under the rim
- The first player dribbles out to a passer spot: corner, wing, or top
- Assign the second and fourth players as offense. Assign the third and fifth players as defense
- The 2 offensive players space away from the passer, with one player in a single gap and one player in a double gap
- Start the possession with an off-ball screen
- Play live 2v2 with the passer available as a passing outlet.
Coaching Points
- Do not hold the ball. Move it and flow into the next action.
- After screening, create a second passing line quickly by slipping or popping
- Re-engage into a secondary screening action if no advantage is created
- Do not accept the switch. Act early to prevent it or punish it.
Variations
- Restrict the defense from switching in the first phase
- Allow switching in the second phase.
- Start with a screen-away action. Then add the flare screen option.
