Stagger Exit Team Shooting

Team shooting drill with a stagger action where all three players get a shot from an outside passer. The shooter chooses a catch-and-shoot exit or curl finish, while passers read the cut and deliver the correct passes.

Instructions

1. Set three lines as shown
2. Players 1 and 2 sprint to set a stagger block for Player 3
3. Player 3 changes speed and chooses the exit: shoot off the stagger or curl
4. If Player 3 shoots off the stagger, Player 1 makes the pass
5. If Player 3 curls, Player 2 makes the pass
6. The other passers adjust their targets accordingly. Everyone shoots
7. The shooters rebound their own shots
8. Rotate clockwise
9. Run it to a certain made baskets. Or point only counts if all three score, etc.

Coaching Points

• Change speed before using the stagger
• Sprint to set the screen
• Sprint into the shot
• Time the pass to the cutter's decision

Variations

• Play to a target number of made baskets
• Award a point only when all three players score
