2v2 Closeout:Drive or Shoot Decision
2v2 advantage game where offense attacks closeouts to create a shot, training fast decisions and simple shot creation.
Instructions
- Offensive players start at wing and corner; defenders start in the paint
- Coach passes to the wing or the corner; defenders must close out from the paint
- Offense reads the closeout: catch-and-shoot or immediate attack (no standing)
- Play 2v2 live to a score or stop
- Rotate groups quickly every possession
Coaching Points
- Offense decides on the catch (shoot, drive, or quick extra pass)
- Use one strong move to create space (no over-dribbling)
- Close-out: stay down, hands up. Feet direction according to your defensive system.
Variations
- Change positions on the floor
- Make it a 3v3
